Purpose of this blog

Personal missionary work as a coordinator for the college students who graduated from Institution Univers in Ouanaminthe, HAITI.

I act as a liaison for those currently in college and their sponsors, until the students have all graduated, whether in USA, Haiti or the Dominican Republic.
As well, I encourage those who have graduated from college but have not yet returned to Haiti, to return to fulfill the purpose of their education, for themselves, their families, their country and most importantly, for God.

Today is the day, the day of the "Called Back to Haiti" fundraising event. I am so excited to see everyone. Everyone, who God has uniquely placed in my life, for such a day as this. This morning during my devotional, I wrote in my journal that "this is more than a fundraiser. It's a culmination of years of friends in Ohio, coming to support me in the rest of my life; mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. I am in awe of You Lord, right now, of You bringing me to this day". This truly is  an example of the redemption, mercy and grace of our glorious Saviour.
See you there!

I truly believe God is around and in and at every "corner", I just have to go to that corner!
I'll give you an example of what happened just this morning; which these kind of things happen almost everyday so you can expect to hear a lot of these kind of "God-things" happening, as I like to call them. Anyhow, I decided to get my nails manicured for a wedding I'm attending this afternoon. So while sitting at the drying station, I start chatting with a woman, who I proceeded to share my new career with, which in turn tells me the last two days have been amazing, as she keeps meeting people who are preparing to go or do what is close to her heart. She then thanked me for going to Haiti. We both agreed, these are the unexplainable events of God, and what a privilege that He chooses us to be a part of them.  She asked how I got involved in this, of which I shared our short-term missions trips. I invited her to contact Jan and Tony, our fearless Christ Community Chapel leaders of Haiti short term missions trip each February or March, if she'd like to go to Haiti on a short-term trip. She said she'd love to. Then said she'd like to come to my fundraiser event this Wednesday, July 25, at CCC. So we proceeded outside, and I gave her a HaitiCocina newsletter, a copy of one of our promotional DVD's and information for this Wednesday's event. As we hugged goodbye and were departing from one another, I said this has been a "divine appointment" and as she turned back towards me, she agreed, saying "it surely is". Praying for you,  Iola, for God's direction in your life, as you step out in faith to find out what all this Haiti mission "chatter" is about!
