If you have forged a relationship with one of them from a mission trip, a particular student being a translator for you, a Facebook relationship, an ESL relationship...whatever it may be will you please pray for that student and how God may want you to be involved in that student's life for their education and career upon returning to Haiti. Also, if you have ANY relationship with any college mentioned please contact me as a strong favorable entree just makes the relationship we are developing with the college that much stronger.
And do not forget we have a need to educate graduates right on their home soil in Haiti or the Dominican Republic. Please contact me with questions, etc: marylee.lewis@gmail.com
Here's 2014-2015 "Philo" (grade 13) Class during monthly Chapel service:
North American College Opportunities
for Institution Univers Students to enter college in Fall 2015:
1.
Red Rocks Community College – Denver, CO USA. We have a $4,000 tuition
scholarship specifically donated for a female to receive a degree in Water
Quality Management Technology Program. It is a 2 + English year program. After
evaluating the scholarship criteria for determination of placement, Gael Jennie
Fleurant has been chosen to proceed with the admission process. A host family
has been secured, the primary donor and host family are actively in the process
of raising the remaining funding. A partial separate donation has be secured of
$250 to be used towards Visa expenses. Additionally, Jennie is one of four
applying for the Venice Presbyterian Scholarship worth $2,000.
2.
Lindsey Wilson College – Columbia, KY USA. Full tuition scholarship for four
years. Need benefactor for room and board, living expenses, Visa expenses and
travel. ($14,600 the 1st year, and $12,000 each year for the remaining three years). Dr. Phil Lenko would like to assist Jaccine Jeador specifically for
this opportunity to major in a health science major. He has committed $3,000
himself and will match any amount any one in his mission team network will
contribute. Additionally, Jaccine is one of four applying for the Venice Presbyterian
Scholarship worth $2,000.
3.
Lake Erie College – Mentor, OH USA. The college is willing to give a student that is
accepted into Lake Erie College the following scholarships:
o Living on Campus: $22,000 per year (still need to raise $6,800)
o Living off Campus: $20,000 per year (still need to raise $8,800)
o Work Study - Students will have the
opportunity to be a part of the work study program and be able to earn an
additional $2000 a year to apply towards their college expenses.
o SAT Test - Since I explained that
the testing center for taking the SAT tests is quite far away, they are willing
to waive the test and replace it with a Skype interview with the Director of
Admissions and a faculty member.
o TOEFL -
Their Toefl requirement is a score equal to or more than 79. Our student will need English immersion courses, therefore there will be addition out of pocket funding needed for the English coursework the first semester.
o Payment Plan - Families
that are hosting/sponsoring the student will have a payment plan available to them. After
evaluating the scholarship criteria for determination of placement, Euclide
Joseph, Ludgee Fleurant, or Angelot Luma would be candidates for this opportunity.
41. Nova Southeastern University – Ft. Lauderdale, FL USA. Need host family. Final determination of the scholarship granted by the college is yet to be determined.

process. It will be determined by the college what the scholarship amount will
be, if not all. Our thought is that Johnson will major in pastoral and

a greatly expanded position of Pastor Dave Mann’s service while he served at IU.
